10 x 10

Separate places connect through constructed matter and material identity. 10x10 creates a dialog between two places that at first glance have nothing in common. The sculptures open up a microcosm, in which the inconspicuous becomes visible and what is left behind receives new attention.

Overlooked connections emerge and reveal what was previously undiscovered. The transformation of the materials makes their history visible and opens up a space of tension that oscillates between the natural and the constructed. The sculpture gives space to the forgotten, connects the seemingly unconnected and places it in a new context - one that makes the interplay of material, place and identity accessible.

10x10 documents selected natural textures of artificially created landscapes, The surfaces are scanned undamaged. The scanned structure remains in its original state and the terrain is translated into data using photogrammetry, from which a 3D model is generated. This model is produced using 3D printing and then serves as the basis for a negative mold. This mold forms the shell for the sculpture, which consists of found material from the two locations and the starting material of these landscapes.
