17_18 baywatch > baywatch episode 1
Looking down from a baywatch tower, we surveyed and analyzed the areas threatened by water throughout the year. The results are grandiose ideas and projects. To carry this into the outside world, we have created a landscape over the course of a week with possibilities and consequences of the floods under the free space of the LENTOS. The fictitious scenery becomes the reflection of a global reality. The water comes, the lifeguards get into action. In the scene of a flood, islands and landscapes got built and open up a social space for publicity. On sandbags there is room for gathering, exchanging and hanging out. This is the basis for being and for the concrete discourse on the basis of installations as well as performative interventions, workshops, concerts and a symposium. As part of the DonauArt and in cooperation with the OÖ Kulturquartier and the Lentos Kunstmuseum Linz, students of raum & designstrategien present their project to the public.
Baywatch Episode 1: Be Water My Friend
Dr. Didi Bruckmayr's raw performativity is set in order to take up space, to tease, to shape, and finally to rebuild. Body, mind and voice form flowing artifacts that fill the space with presence. Be Water my friend.

Saturday Sound Scape
In cooperation with Tanzkommune - Swing Dance Community LNZ (tanzkommune.net) we invited all to a special night of SWING MUSIC, SOCIAL DANCING and GOOD VIBES in general under the Lentos. There was a free basic steps lesson for everyone who wanted to try out and join the Lindy Hop world. Swing it up!
A performance using acoustics and visuals to connects the open space of the Lentos on the Linzer Ufer with the opposite side of the river (more precisely, the salon ship Miss Florentine on the Urfahraner Ufer).
A collection of various texts on climate, social and urban change will be broadcast live and simultaneously at both places recited by the performers. Let the future inspire you with discourses and enjoy them with a delicious cocktail. At the same time, the visitors, who are listening to the speech acts, with binoculars from a "bay", a "critical" view of what is happening on the other side; the possibility of being hit even by the critical glances of the opposite side. The view in the form of "being looked at" (Jean-Paul Sartre) is thus made productive for a performative act in order to be able to open one of these "social spaces". And so the performers experiment in their performance of how to produce "effect," "change," and "action."
