tribsees zukunft machen
Many people migrated westward fromMecklenburg-WesternPomerania, includingTribsees. The result is inner-city wastelandsthat shape the cityscape: all sorts of empty houses and empty spacesthat remind the inhabitants of Tribsees of the past every day. Whenyou look at broken houses every day, it’s hard to imagine anythingelse. But as Robert Musil said in Man Without Characteristics: “But ifthere is a sense of reality, and no one will doubt that it has itsraison d’être, then there must also be something that can be called asense of possibility [. . . ]". To ignite this in the inhabitants of Tribsees, to show future opportunities for Tribsees without presenting an urbandevelopment plan, was therefore the aim of our annual project. Artistic interventions in tribsees from the diving tower to the carcounter were created. Empty buildings were temporarily occupied, thehouse in need of renovation at Karl-Marx-Straße 23 became a co-working space, an empty wall turned into a cinema. Elsewherehotelrooms were built for the students, the wild garden of the formerbar “Kiek Inn” was opened up, showers were installed with a panoramic view and in the meantime a café has reopened on thecentral square.
